SBN- SABONG BROADCASTING NETWORK

Mga kasabong, I've been writing about bloodlines, conditioning and the great breeders on this blog for years. Today I'm sharing something bigger. It's a project that my team at OK Studios has been building: SBN, the Sabong Broadcasting Network.

SBN is a Netflix-style streaming library of podcast programs for sabungeros, breeders and fans in the Philippines and abroad. It also has a 24/7 channel. It's free to watch, in Taglish and English, on any screen.

And yes, we're opening the door to investors. I'll explain everything below.

πŸ‘‰ Visit the site: https://sbn.spurblade.workers.dev/#investors

Why I'm Building SBN

Sabong is one of the oldest traditions in the Philippines, and millions of fans follow it at home and abroad. But look at where our content lives today:

  • Talk shows and lessons are scattered across personal pages.
  • Those pages can disappear overnight, because mainstream platforms restrict gamefowl content.
  • Years of knowledge from great breeders get lost in one takedown.

Real example: some of you followed a page with thousands of members, full of conditioning tips. One morning it was gone, and every video went with it.

Our community deserves its own stable home. That's SBN.

What You'll Watch on SBN

The official teaser introduces our first program segments:

  • Best Gamefowl · Bloodline: featured birds, farms, and the bloodlines behind them.
  • Top 10 Fights: a weekly countdown of the best derby matches.
  • VS: Head-to-Head: bird vs bird, bloodline vs bloodline.
  • Sports World: daily derby news and results from around the world.

Then there's the expert talk, which the teaser promises for "15 hours a day":

  • Live Derbies: coverage and analysis from partner arenas.
  • Bloodline Debates: Hatch, Sweater, Roundhead, Brown Red.
  • Conditioning Secrets: keeping systems, feeding and pointing.
  • Expert Talk Q&A: vets, breeders and handlers.

And programs for the farm, the culture and the global community: Legends of the Pit, Breeder's Roundtable, Sabong 101 (from the egg to the brood pen), and OFW Sabungero, scheduled for Filipinos abroad in their own time zones.

How SBN Makes Money

The model is simple and has been proven for decades: it works like broadcast TV, but on demand.

  • Every programming hour has 45 minutes of content and 15 minutes of ads.
  • Advertisers book :30 and :15 spots as pre-rolls, mid-rolls and channel breaks. Prices depend on the time of day and the show.
  • Show sponsorships: a brand can own a program. A feed brand inside the conditioning show and a vet brand inside Vet Talk is a natural fit.
  • Overnight OFW block: night in Manila is evening in the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. That's extra ad inventory for remittance, telco and cargo brands.
  • Content that keeps earning: every episode stays in the library, and the ads in it earn again every time someone watches.

Who advertises? Feeds, vitamins, vet medicine, farm supplies, breeders, gear makers and derby organizers. Mass-market brands too: telcos, digital wallets, remittance companies, motorcycle makers and beverage brands that want a loyal, mostly male audience.

Our own player counts real views and ad completions, so every sponsor gets a performance report.

How It Works, Step by Step

  1. Record: hosts record in our studio or from home on simple podcast kits.
  2. Produce: our team handles editing, graphics, lower-thirds and subtitles.
  3. Place ads: server-side ad insertion puts the spots into every episode.
  4. Stream: our own player and CDN deliver to phones, PCs and smart TVs.
  5. Report: views and ad completions go straight to sponsors.

Everything is run from our control center in Quezon City, using the same remote-production approach OK Studios already uses for live arena broadcasts.

Three things I'm proud of: - Our own platform. SBN runs on its own website and app, so no social-media takedown can erase the network. We use social clips only for marketing. - The tools are already built. We've already made broadcast overlays, OBS automation, a derby scoreboard and booking tools, and SBN reuses all of them. - 24/7 without a 24/7 crew. Live shows run during the day, and overnight the channel replays best-of episodes for our kababayan abroad.

Why Now

  • Streaming is cheap now. There's no TV licence and no satellite. A lean studio, cloud servers and a CDN can reach the whole world.
  • The audience has no home. The big platforms keep pushing gamefowl content away.
  • First mover takes the category. Nobody owns "the sabong channel" yet. The first trusted, professional network becomes the default for viewers and advertisers.

Real example: think about how one network became "the" channel for basketball fans. The first one that does it right is the one people remember.

The Team Behind SBN

  • Earl Matthew "Odaz" Canonizado, Founder, OK Studios. That's me: breeder, writer of this blog, and builder of the network's software and AI production tools.
  • Kathleen Noelle "Kato" Asis, Co-founder, OK Studios. She handles operations, partnerships and brand.
  • Engr. Ricardo "Eric" Canonizado, Project Manager. BSECE, with 26+ years in telecommunications. He's Technical Head at Golden Buzzer Inc. and VP of Liga ng Magmamanok sa Pilipinas.

We're insiders of the sport and of broadcast technology. That combination is rare.

The Roadmap: Where Investor Capital Goes

There's no pilot stage. SBN launches straight into full operation.

  • 0️⃣ Build: studio and podcast kits, the streaming platform and player, brand, rate card, and the first advertisers signed.
  • 1️⃣ Launch: the Season 1 library goes live with daily shows and the 24/7 channel. Founding advertisers get launch rates.
  • 2️⃣ Grow: a full programming grid, more hosts and producers, show sponsorships and the overnight OFW block.
  • 3️⃣ Scale: English programs for global markets, smart-TV apps, content licensing and season-long sponsor deals.

The Investor Opportunity

We're looking for a lead investor or a small group of partners to fund the launch. The business is lean by design: streaming costs grow with the audience, and every new hour of programming adds more ad inventory to sell.

  • πŸ’‘ Low startup cost. We're doing podcast-style production, not TV-studio production. Most of the money goes into content and sales.
  • πŸ“ˆ Inventory that grows. Every hour carries 15 minutes of sellable ad time.
  • 🧩 Several revenue streams. Spot ads, sponsorships, OFW-block ads, content licensing and commerce.
  • πŸ›‘️ Category ownership. It's the first professional network in a large, loyal niche.

The confidential Investor Pack is available on request. It includes the pitch deck, feasibility study, financial model with break-even scenarios, rate card and media kit, the 24/7 programming grid, and the staffing and investment structure.

Financial figures are shared only with qualified investors after an introductory call.

We also have a Chinese-language section (δΈζ–‡) for investors in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia, who are all in the same GMT+8 time zone as us.

Compliance First: A Media Business, Not a Gaming Business

I want to be very clear about this:

  • 🚫 No betting. SBN does not offer, process or show any betting or wagering.
  • πŸŽ“ Educational focus. The content covers breeding, animal health, farm management, culture and community.
  • ✅ Brand-safe. Content is reviewed for advertiser safety, and we do a legal review before launching any new format.
  • 🧾 Transparent books. Advertisers are invoiced under formal agreements, and payment is by bank transfer.

SBN earns from advertising, not from gaming. That's what keeps it clean, fundable and built to last.

How to Get Involved

Whether you're an investor, advertiser or sponsor, podcast host or producer, or a content or distribution partner, there's a place for you.

Tell us a little about yourself and your interest, and we'll reply with the Investor Pack.

Building SBN is like breeding a champion bloodline. You don't get a winner from one lucky mating. You get it from the right foundation, patient selection and a long-term vision. We have the foundation: the community, the knowledge and the technology. Now we're looking for partners who want to help raise this line from the brood pen to the world stage.
